Hiding key bundles & files
Keys and arbitrary files can be "hidden" or woven into PNG type images and WAV type audio files. This option can be used by users who want to avoid it being easily recognizable that there are key bundles on USB sticks or SD cards for the MOTP method.

But they can also be used, for example, to weave copyright signatures into such files. The functions for this can be reached via the main menu item Tools.

Hide key

Key bundles can be "hidden" in files with PNG and WAV file formats or stored in a QR code. If one of these "container files" is selected, the currently selected key bundle will be "packed" in this container.

The functions for this can be accessed via the main menu item Tools and the Hide key menu.
Depending on the container type, the appropriate file selection dialog is opened and only containers (files) are offered that also have the required capacity to hold the key bundle.

If keys are to be stored in a QR code, the menu item is activated as QR ... is only activated if the QR code has sufficient capacity. Then a free name for an image in PNG format can be selected in the file selection dialog. If the name does not have the extension .png, it will be added automatically.
Unpack key

Key bundles can also be retrieved from their containers. They can then be stored in a folder of your choice.

The functions for this can be accessed via the main menu item Tools and the Unpack Keys menu.
Depending on the container type, the appropriate file selection dialog is opened and only files that also act as containers and contain a key bundle are offered.

After selecting the container with its key, the destination folder is requested in which the key bundle is to be stored under its original name.
If the key bundle could be saved successfully, the user is informed about it.
If the selected destination folder already contains this key bundle, the user will be asked how to proceed.
Remove key

Key bundles can also be removed from their containers. However, this is only necessary for PNG and WAV formats, because QR codes can be easily deleted.

The functions for this can be accessed via the main menu item Tools and the Remove key menu.
Depending on the container type, the appropriate file selection dialog is opened and only files that also act as containers and contain a key bundle are offered.

After the key bundle is successfully removed, the user is informed about it.
Hide file

Just like key bundles, any files can be hidden or woven into images or audio files. The difference between key bundles and other files is that key bundles are woven slightly differently so that the key bundle search can distinguish them from normal files.

When the function is called, the file to be hidden is first requested via a file selection dialog and then the container to be used. Both WAV and PNG format files are offered here, and all of them that have the required capacity to hold the file to be hidden.

During weaving the progress is visualized by a progress bar and after successful completion of the process the user is informed about it.
Regain file

To retrieve the hidden files from the container, call the Regain file function.

When the function is called, a file selection dialog asks for the container to be unpacked. Only files that also contain a hidden file are offered here.
During the unpacking process the progress is visualized by a progress bar and after successful completion of the process the user is informed about it.
The hidden file is saved in the folder of the container and removed from the container at the same time. If the folder already contains this file, the user will be asked how to proceed.
